SilverCrest is committed to providing our residents with the tools to live healthier, longer lives. Our wellness centers offer well rounded fitness programs focusing on strength, cardiovascular health, posture, balance, flexibility and socialization. Partnering with the medical community we are also able to provide physical and occupational therapy for residents and the community at large. A limited number of memberships are available to area residents 55 or better who do not live on our campus.
We know that regular exercise is one of the most important things you can do to slow down the aging process. 85% of independent living residents participate in 1-3 activities each week in the Wellness Center, while 35% of assisted living residents participate in 1-2 activities per week. The benefits recognized by residents and community members include: increased muscle tone, improved range of motion, improved circulation, enhanced balance and mobility, decreased levels of pain, improvement in overall strength, and a great opportunity to socialize.
Our fully staffed wellness centers feature a variety of fitness programs. Senior-friendly strength and cardio equipment by TechnoGym allow for the development of individualized fitness programs and their ease of use increases participation in the program. We also offer professionally lead fitness classes including tai chi, posture & balance, yoga, chair fitness and more. At locations that include swimming pools, our water temperature is kept at a joint friendly 92 degrees and there are lanes for lap swimming and areas designed for participating in a variety of water-based fitness classes.
